Welcome to Trinity College, 2T3 Residents! Summer is finally over and your time at Trinity is about to begin! Bring your gear to St. Hilda’s Welcome Desk or Trinity Proper Welcome Desk to move in to the appropriate building, and then head on over to The Buttery to sign in and receive your orientation wristband!

Recommended: Label all your moving boxes with your room number in big, bold font! Arrive early so you can attend Orientation Week events for the day!

Commuter Registration:

Time: 11 AM – 12:30 PM

Ah yes, the most awkward lunch of the week: it’s time to mingle! On the bright side, there will be amazing food! 

Recommended: Talk to everyone, including your orientation leaders! Find other students who will be in  your orientation group (Hint: look at the number written on their hand)

Don Meeting:

Time: 1:30 – 2:30 PM


Meet your Resident Don and other students living on your floor! Your Don is an academic and social resource who will be a resource to you throughout the year.

Recommended: Learn how they can help you and where they live on your floor!

Commuter Meeting:

Time: 1:30 – 2:30 PM

The Commuter Information Session is intended for incoming commuter students to get to know fellow commuter students, make friendships, as well as learn about commuter life tips and tricks at Trinity College. 

Commuter Pairing Program:

Time: 2:30 – 2:50 PM

Interested in hosting a commuter student or being hosted by a resident student? It’s a great way to quickly make a new friend for the week and will be super appreciated! Come on down to meet your pair!

Recommended: Store your belongings in the lockers in the Larkin Building basement, not in your resident partner’s room, as you will not have the key to their room for the duration of the week.

Opening Ceremony

Time: 3 – 4 PM

It’s time to celebrate! This is your official welcome to the week ahead. You will be updated on what to expect during the week and will be introduced to members of the community!

Recommended: Keep up the enthusiasm!

Trinity Tours:

Time: 4 – 5:30 PM

Location: Start in Backfield

The Trinity Tours will cover all of the cool places you’ll get to know and love throughout your time here at the college. Your Orientation Leader will take you through a walkthrough of what you can expect of being a student at Trinity College. Common rooms, residence spaces, Strachan food – we’ll explain it all here!

Your first of many meals in Strachan Hall! Get familiar with the dining hall and practice the infamous act of Strachan Sitting (staying in Strachan for a long amount of time and talking to everyone that sits next to you at the table).

Recommended: Don’t Strachan Sit for too long. Your legs need a stretch!

Welcome to your first night at TrinFest. For this special night, we bring you to Trin-a-palooza. Come in your festival apparel as your Trinity journey starts under the stars with good music, food trucks, and plenty of festival games. 

Recommended: Come to Whit Common Room at 8 to pick up your flower crowns and flash tattoos! Come wearing your best festival outfits.

Movie Under the Stars:

Time: 9 – 11:30 PM

Location: JCR

It’s been a long day, why not get away from the hustle and bustle and take in a movie and popcorn in the JCR, while lying cozy with bean bags!

Recommended: Bring your blankets for extra comfort!

Day 2:

International Mixer and Q&A Session

Welcome international students! Come and meet some of your fellow international frosh and learn some handy tips from upper year international students. There will be a short presentation followed by a Q and A session. Afterwards enjoy some food, meet the Trinity international student clubs and most importantly your fellow international 2T3s.

Double Decker Bus Tour:

New to Toronto? Want to be a tourist in your own city? Join us in a double decker bus tour as we showcase all the greatest spots in the city in this comfortable ride! Spots are limited, so come quick!

Recommended: A camera or selfie stick to look extra tourist-y!

Royal Ontario Museum:

Time: 10am-12pm

Location: Depart from Quad

Head on over to see cool exhibits at the Royal Ontario Museum with the group, including Gods in My Home: Chinese New Year with Ancestor Portraits and Deity Prints, In the Age of Rembrandt: Dutch Paintings from the Museum of Fine Arts, and more!

Teams will play head-to-head in various trivia and active games. Who will win the Trinlympics? Come prepared to fight for the championship!

Backyard Animals
Time: 12:00pm – 2:00pm

Frosh week can be hectic, so come unwind with our special barnyard guests. Come visit the Melinda Seamen Quad at St.Hildas to see which furry animals we’ve invited for you to meet!

TCLI Quad Debate and Lunch:

Time: 1:00pm – 2:00pm

Location: Quad

Join the oldest debating society in Canada for a light-hearted introduction to College life in its first debate of the year. Prepare to giggle, or perhaps cry. Just be warned that while snacks are provided, tissues are not. The debate will take place in the Trinity Quad. Lunch will be provided!

Coachella Crawl:

Time: 2:00pm – 5:00pm


Students will be divided into teams of 10 to compete in a Coachella-themed scavenger hunt around UofT campus and the streets of Toronto. This skill-testing exercise challenges students to explore their new home, employ collaborative teamwork and make new friends. A prize will be available for the first-place team to finish the crawl. 

Recommended: Challenge by choice!

Mindful Moments, Yoga, and Tea in the Quad

Location: Quad

Time: 2:30pm-4:00pm

Come enjoy the afternoon sunshine with some relaxing mindfulness mediation, yoga, and refreshing tea. All levels of experience with yoga and meditation are encouraged to participate. Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat or towel as a limited supply of mats will be provided for use during the session. The event is hosted by Ramata, Trinity’s Associate Director, Community Wellness in partnership with the Orientation Team.

Recommended: Come early. First 10 attendees will get a free yoga mat courtesy of the Trinity Community Wellness team. 

Provost’s Dinner:

Time: 5:30-7:30

Location: Strachan Hall

Join the Trinity’s provost as she hosts the first formal dinner of the year.

Recommended: Frosh shirts encouraged !!!

Neon Nights:

Time: 9:00pm-1:00am

You can roll up to an all-access backstage party in your snazziest shades in the Neon Nights dance! DJ Playlists will feature headliners and retro tunes all night long. While rocking out, be sure to be dressed for a spectacular blacklight party, and sunglasses are a must. Pizza included!

Recommended:  Wear white or neon if you want to glow in the dark.

DIY Daze:

Time: 9:00pm-11:30pm


Not sure how to decorate your room? Worry not, we are here to help! Come let your creativity loose with painting materials and plenty of DIY ideas to make your room truly your’s.

You’ve probably heard about the most anticipated event of Frosh Week. Get excited for UofT parade! Downtown Toronto shuts down as thousands of students file into the streets and cheer for their college (or campus). Trinity may be the smallest college, but we definitely have the biggest spirit! TRIN LOVES TRIN

Recommended: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a water bottle!! 

HIIT 101:


Location: Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport

Enjoy a private Trinity HIIT workout class. It’s the perfect heart-pounding, sweat inducing, endorphin rushing mix of High Intensity Interval Training. We’ll inspire you to fight hard and dream bigger. All fitness levels are welcome, and all will be challenged for your own ability.

Quad Sports:

Trinity Students have always been known for their dominance of UofT’s intramural scene but the college is even more famous for its casual athletics. Squash. Wall Ball. Ultimate Frisbee. Frosh will learn the ways of Trinity’s finer athletic sensibilities while letting loose with a few games of ultimate frisbee in the Quad.

Frosh will undergo their final transformation into UofT students. Frosh will be divided based on their intended programs into five streams: Rotman, CompSci/Math, Life Sci, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Current Upper Year students from those programs will take frosh on a tour of the buildings where department classes are most frequently held so students know how to get to class. Welcome to Bahen, Convocation Hall, Bader Theatre and McLennan Physical!

Meet Upper Years in your Program!

After a week of fun, it’s time to get serious (but not too serious)! This is your prime opportunity to ask any questions you might have about university life. Should I take MAT135, 137 or 157? Massey Common: Come relax and unwind before your first full week of classes in the Massey Common room! We’ll be hosting a movie night and you can bet that pizza will be plentiful.

Burgess Common: It’s spa night at Burgess Common! Come, enjoy a face mask, and chill out with us. Supplies will be provided but feel free to bring whatever you normally use – drop that skincare routine!
